Hint: In this question, we need to first understand the basic difference between the process of conduction and convection. The basic act of the transmission of thermal radiation between two systems via the dispersion of heat is termed as heat transfer. The three different ways of heat energy transfer are radiation, conduction, and convection.
Complete answer:
(i) Conduction: Direct contact between two things allows heat to be transferred via the conduction process. In this process, the heat exchange occurs because of the temperature variance. It is a slow method of transferring heat. Additionally, when a solid is heated, heat is transferred through the process of conduction.
(ii) Convection: Convection is a method of heat transmission in which the heat moves throughout the fluid itself. As a result of the density difference, heat is transferred. Convection is a much more efficient technique of transmitting heat. An illustration of this is the transfer of heat from air to water.
From the above description of the various modes of transfer of heat, it is now clear which process is employed in transfer of heat in the egg when it is boiled. Putting an egg on the stove to boil is not a good illustration of convection. This is a case of conduction. Because in the case of egg heat is conducted from water to the egg.
Note:Understanding the various heat transmission mechanisms is crucial for answering this kind of question. Every day, we are accompanied by conduction and convection processes, such as cloud formation in the sky.
