Carbon is a gaseous cycle. In which gas plays a significant role.
Fossil fuel represents a reserve of carbon. Carbon cycling occurs through the atmosphere, ocean, and living and dead organisms.
Most of the carbon is fixed through photosynthesis annually. A considerable amount of carbon atoms return to the atmosphere as ${CO_2}$ through respirator activities of the producers and consumers. Decomposers also contribute to the ${CO_2}$ pool by their processing of waste materials and dead organic matter.
B. Phosphorus cycle-
It is a sedimentary cycle in which the atmosphere or gases have no role. The natural reservoir of phosphorus is a rock that contains Phosphorus in the form of phosphates.
When rocks are weathered a minute amount of this phosphate dissolves in salt solution and absorbed by the roots of the plants. Animals obtain this element from plants. The dead organisms are decomposed by phosphate solubilizing bacteria releasing phosphorus.
